Interesting point, Renata!
I agree we should not leave travel (or any) wishes for retirement.
We will change a lot when we get old, and we should not worry about not having other, maybe radically different wishes by then!
So as soon as we can make our fantasies a reality, we should do it!
I’d drink to that version of 2022 any day!

Thanks for your thoughts, Agnes!
See it from the positive side: you didn’t have to experience a dramatic traffic plunge like travel bloggers who started earlier.
From now on, the only way is up 😉
Have a lot of success in 2022!

If 2021 taught me one thing then that you should leave as soon as you can – no matter where. I’m going on trips in Europe I wanted to take when I’m over 70 – well, I guess covid made us old a bit faster than expected 😉

It certainly had a significant impact on the traffic on the site. I have a problem with this because we started the blog shortly before the pandemic. May the next year be kind to bloggers. Good luck!

Thanks, Natascha!
Yes, many countries in Europe, reachable by a short flight or drive.
But it’s still hard to predict what tomorrow brings!
Have a great year, wherever you end up going!

It seems you managed to travel a bit at least, four countries during the pandamic is not too bad. I think we are lucky in Europe, as most countries want to keep the borders open now. As for traveling in Switzerland: Go camping – that makes staying there much, much cheaper. You can cook your own food and the campsites are quite often in the most spectacular places. Wild camping is forbidden but possible if you set up your tent late and move early. Looking forward to your blog posts in 2022!

Thanks for your feedback, Donnamarie!
By now, I’ve heard about several examples of people who started travel blogging during the pandemic. I think it’s impressive! Well done for courage and persistence, I know it was not easy!
But looking back at what we do achieve, like through this 2021 year in review, does remind us how resistant we are. My waiter-summer was not just a welcomed income source, but also an experience out of which I will surely source a lot of blog content too! I love when the investment and earning are joined in the same activity 🙂
Have a great year!

I on the other hand, only started my blog during the pandemic after having a few months off from work. I write about past travel experiences. My husband and I also tried to find safe ways to travel during the pandemic like taking road trips to out of the way places, staying at unique airbnbs, and camping. I like how you started waiting tables for extra income. Sometimes meeting people can give us a different perspective on things. I wish you luck in the coming year.
