Oh, I’m sorry to hear that your whale watching trip didn’t end up in spotting an actual whale 🙁
I guess it largely depends on location, season, but also on trip organizers who sometimes paint the picture more vividly than it could realistically happen.

Wow, I dont know what would be scarier having a pilot whale bump along my leg or having to listen to Pink Floyd while attempting to jump back into the classic wooden arabic sailboat!
But either way what a great sounding adventure you guys had. I loved the photos of the Shogun Arabic Sailboat! What a beautiful vessel. I also had no idea that Pilot Whales looked so much like dolphins. But I am so glad you saw so many and even got a bit close to them. The water there in Tenerife looks absolutely amazing. Definitely adding this to our Canary Islands bucket list adventure!

In reply to Jamie. Whale watching in Tenerife is a worthwhile experience indeed. If you ever get the chance to visit the Canary Islands, the pilot whales around Tenerife will wait and let you peek into that deep world under the ocean surface. Recommended!

It is really incredible to get to see these magnificent creatures up-close. There is this huge ocean and chance comes and brings you together- well knowledgeable guides too. Tenerife sounds like a great place to see them. I have not had the chance to see a pilot whale, so would love that.

This sounds like an exotic adventure! I’ve been whale-watching in San Diego, but what we see most often is just dolphins. I’d love to go to Tenerife, period. But going on this excursion would be icing on the cake!
